Wouldn’t you like to have a well-mannered dog as a member of your family? Most people would, but whether we like to admit it or not, most of our canine friends are in need of help when it comes to learning what we consider to be appropriate behavior. They do not always understand “our” rules and expectations, and they do not always understand what we are asking them to do. This lack of communication can cause frustration for both you and your pet, and this can unfortunately lead to bigger problems in the future. Providing training in order to give your dog the gift of understanding is the mission at Colonial Dog School. Only positive training methods are used because your best friend deserves it!
RD is amazing! We had two sessions at my home and after the first one, my 10 month old rescue pup was no longer afraid to get in and ride in the car, or go on walks. She taught me how to speak dog and… be the alpha so my pup can feel confident and secure with me. We are still working on separation anxiety, but all of RDs advice has been successful so far. She is definitely a dog whisperer. I’d recommend her to anyone! See More

I’ve been training dogs and horses since we moved to Tennessee when I was in 4th grade. I was self taught in my animal training adventures – meaning lots of trial and error – until after I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 2007 from The University of the South. My first job after college was working on a horse breeding farm where I studied several professional methods of horse training to train the young ones up in the manner desired by our clients.
Teach children not to shriek, run or flap their hands because this will engage the puppy’s natural prey instincts and add to the problem. Children should remain calm and keep their hands closed and close to their bodies.
Your puppy will learn very quickly and respond to love and affection as well as rewards. Obedience training will help build a lasting bond between the two of you and you’ll be rewarded with a happy, well-trained dog.

We are so glad we found Training Tracks when we got our Affenpinscher from the shelter. Mel worked to help her overcome her incredible shyness, and each month she comes around a little more. She now even jumps on the couch to cuddle up next to me! Thanks, Mel! You were fantastic.

We have had two in home sessions with RD now, working on basic puppy training for our 3 month old, as well as some issues without 12 y/o. She is awesome! The dogs love her and she gets results. She re…ally understands how the dog thinks, and uses that to her advantage. Also, a big part of dog training is owner training, and she’s done a great job of training me and my husband. Thanks RD! Please try to let your coach know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a class. You will be provided with the training guide for the week you missed so that you can catch up at home. We are not able to offer replacement classes or refunds but will help you catch up in time for the following class. If you require help in understanding or practising the guide for the week you missed get in touch with your coach for advice.
If you can teach your dog polite manners without hurting or frightening her, why not do it? Rather than punishing her for all the things you don’t want her to do, concentrate on teaching your dog what you do want her to do. When your dog does something you like, convince her to do it again by rewarding her with something she loves. You’ll get the job done without damaging the relationship between you and your best friend.
RD has been a huge help in just the first couple of times meeting with her! Our dog, Dempsey, has needed to work on over-excitedly greeting people as well as with leash pulling and frustration. We’ve …already seen some major improvements and have been given the tools to continue on this positive trend. RD is great at being a calm, helpful presence as she explains what is going through your dogs mind and how to use this to your advantage. We still need to work on the homework that she gives us at the end of each session, but I know we will continue to see improvements week to week both in training sessions as well as in daily life. My method of training Labrador Retrievers includes teaching specific words in specific ways so that your dog not only learns the words but also develops the respectful attitude that makes him happy to obey you. Teach your dog words and he will understand what you say. Teach those words in the right ways and he will actually DO what you say. [read more]

The young pup looks to you for guidance. Never punish him either physically or with a harsh scolding as this will make him fearful of you. Old-fashioned training methods relied on dominating the dog, but we now know dogs trained this way obeyed out of fear rather than thinking through what’s wanted and obeying to please you.
Dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions seen by veterinarians. Approximately two-thirds of cats over three years of age have some degree of dental disease. The most common problems are due to periodontal disease, gingivitis and cervical neck lesions, also called oral resorptive lesions.
Eleven-year-old Matt is struggling in school and he has to set up his own business to save his failing math grade. But what is he even good at? The only thing he truly loves is his team of dogs, and so Matt’s Sled Dog School is born. Teaching dogsledding should be easy, right?
Our positive dog training methods are pain-free, treat-free, and clicker-free. We DO NOT use shock collars, spray collars or pronged collars. We will teach you a system of communication your dog already knows, based on canine communication and pack behavior. You will learn how to use your body language and voice tones to get your dog to focus and respect you. You can learn to teach your dog behaviors that are and are not acceptable, both on and off leash, at your home, at the park or virtually anywhere.
We immediately have noticed a difference in our dog after one session. She was so responsive during the session it was like night and day. I am actually disappointed we didn’t find this service sooner…. RD genuinely takes time to work with you and your dog and gives you tools to set you up for long term success. The sessions aren’t based on a specific time limit, which is amazing because our little dog needs some specialized attention. We are so thankful for our new trainer and how our pup’s behavior is changing! See More

Now that I’ve experienced other dog daycares I love Dog School even more. In our new home, http://rentabilisermapassion.org/developper-la-formation-des-entreprises-developper-des-affaires-de-remise-en-forme/ TX, many of the dog daycares used crates for a large portion of the day. I loved the fact that she could run around free at Dog School all day if she wanted to. We miss this place!!!
Our Puppy Class is for pups 9 weeks through 5 months old. The puppy owner learns how to use positive methods to teach the puppy good manners and to build a bond of love and respect. The pup is socialized with other puppies and people and taught exercises to help them gain confidence when meeting new situations and objects. The puppy will learn to come when called, sit, lie down, stand, and not pull on the leash while walking. They are also taught to settle down, be touched and be examined by both the owner and a stranger. The instructor leads discussions on Jumping Up, Home Training Problems, Nutrition, Grooming, Crate Training, Spay/Neutering and other subjects to help the puppy’s family become responsible pet owners. Puppies are also taught the meaning of “Off”, to remove themselves from furniture, etc. Instructions for teaching some tricks (roll over, etc.) are included to give the puppy and handler additional “training fun” and to let the dog “show off”. A Training Handbook is issued to each student.
You may as well take advantage of this innocence, when they have no idea of what life is with no preconceived ideas, no habits formed or needing to be broken, to start training them to fit into the life that they will lead with the skills that they will need.
