Our students have an opportunity to work with all types of dogs during their attendance in one of our programs. We have a variety of pet and working dogs available, including dogs from our Second Chance Program. Students are allowed to bring up to two (2) dogs with them during their stay and they can integrate their personal dogs into their training program. You are not required to bring a dog with you as we will have many dogs for you to train and work with while you are here. Students are also not required to clean kennels or participate in any type of “work detail program” or “leadership program” during their stay. We have a full kennel staff that maintains our kennel facilities, daily.
Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I love my lab, but yesterday when I was walking her, she pulled so hard I face planted. This website is amazing. Thank you for all who contribute. Bella and I started training today and I could already see her starting to respond. Your whole attitude toward dogs is spot on! Thank you!
NOTE, it is very important that you leash train OUTSIDE of your home and backyard, the puppy needs to be somewhere new and unusual where it looks for you for comfort. Last week I just adopted another lab, an 8 week old chocolate named Henry. We just took him on his first walk yesterday. At first he sat down and did not want to go, but with the leash held high, short, and lots of “Lets go’s!” He was loving the walk within minutes and was trained by the time we were done. Have patience and remember the two most important things are taking the pup to an unusual place, and keeping his leash held high and short so he stays right next to you and does not bite or even see the leash.

In our most popular in-home dog training program, our trainers come to your home or office several times a week to train your dog for you – even while you’re at work. It’s much faster and easier than doing it yourself, because both you and your dog get the ideal learning experience. Your dog learns straight from the experts, and you get to learn with a dog who is already really well-trained.
SNAKECHECK: If you would like to check your dog AFTER being trained, you are welcome to do a SNAKECHECK by walking your dog past one of the desert habitat snake cages. SNAKECHECKS can only be done on Friday mornings, and do not involve dressing (equipment) or training of your dog. Cost of a SNAKECHECK is $50. This fee is to cover your beingescorted by a staff member. If your dog fails the check, and you wish to have them trained at the same time, there will be an additional charge of $50. This is to cover us having to dress (place equipment on your dog) and then run them a second time.
Puppies are exactly like children. They cannot take care of themselves and are naïve to the world around them. But they’re highly observant and will be studying your every move as they learn about our world.
Anybody who is involved in the care of your dog is encouraged to come along to class, including children. Please bear in mind that your coaches will be talking to the class on a group level to teach you valuable key messages about behaviour, so it is important that anybody attending is able to listen quietly (if young children are attending it could be a good idea to bring something to keep them occupied with at these times). Let your coach know if you have any special requirements or will have more than 3 people attending with your dog, so that they can prepare and make sure there is enough space. To make sure you can concentrate on training your puppy, we would ask that you leave any other pets (including other dogs) at home.
Your puppy’s adult teeth will start to erupt around four months (16 weeks or so) of age. For this reason, you should manage puppy biting before this age since adult teeth will cause more harm to human skin.
RD came highly recommended from a fellow golden retriever owner who raved about her experience! RD had a way with my dog, an instant respect was formed. She is kind, knowledgeable and very patient which was very important to me as I love my dog like a child! We worked on sit, stay, kitchen manners and techniques for walking and the come command. Prices are very reasonable and lessons easy to follow. Looking forward to her next visit. Would highly recommend and have several times already and everyone has been just as happy!

Old Dog, New Puppy – I particularly liked this article for it’s idea of giving the older dog special privileges, attention and respect to overcome a jealousy problem that existed. Make sure you read this one!
Aggressive behavior is the most common reason that people seek professional training for their dogs. formalités creation entreprise dogs require careful evaluation from a professional to accurately classify and diagnose the behavior. Puppies that display aggressive behavior are often diagnosed as undersocialized or hyperactive, and may evolve out of that behavior with regular obedience training. However, dogs with real aggression issues require specialized training from a behaviorist or trainer who understands genetic and hereditary factors, types of aggression, environmental factors and aggressive treatment methods. The number one suggestion when seeking an aggressive behavior specialist is to ask a trusted veterinarian. Dog rescues or other professionals may also have good referrals.

Some days we have conflicting schedules that would leave our little guy by himself for 4 or 5 hours. We knew we needed to find him a doggie day care that he could play at while we were busy. Miles does not do well in the crate, so we needed some place that didn’t do any “crate/quiet time”. After talking with some of the fur-mommies and fur-daddies at our local dog park about their recommendations, we were excited to give Dog School a try.

At its best and when given proper puppy socialization and training the Labrador Retriever is: Highly intelligent, gentle, affectionate, loyal, utterly dependable, good natured, lively and eager to please. They are superb with children, good with other dogs and animals.
I have an Australian kelpie who is a very focused herding dog – terrible on a leash, reactive, obsessive and really bad the car. Before meeting RD I had hired two other trainers to work with him and they were both a waste of money – one even told me good luck and that there was nothing he could do to help my dog! During the first session with RD she had him walking on a leash without pulling and riding in a car without freaking out. I was in shock! I thought for sure when I walked him the next day he would revert to his old habitats but it has been two weeks and he is still doing great on leash and major improvement in the car! The second session we worked on leash reactivity and his obsessive behavior in the yard – these are going to take a little longer to work through but I have already seen improvements. RD showed me techniques to use so I feel like I finally have the tools to correct his behavior. She also gave me some pointers for my other dog. I highly recommend working with RD, I wish I had met her years ago! My dog is going to have a much better life after working with RD – I may actually be able to take him hiking this summer!
