For dogs with aggression issues, private training costs may increase to $90-100 per session.

Highly recommend Will to train your dog. He has done an amazing job with my 16 month old Great Dane! Moose has totally made a complete turn around to his unruly days! And with Will’s help I’m on my way to accomplishing a dream….Moose will start working on becoming a certified therapy dog as soon as his obedience training is over. Huge thank you!

William Koehler was perhaps the first dog trainer who had encouraged dog owners to have a better bonding with their dogs. In fact, before that, dogs were considered as working animals, and were mostly kept in the backyard. His methods helped dog owners transform these animals into household pets. It is he who introduced the leashes and collars and explained their importance.

As a person who makes regular visits to the gym and makes efforts to take long hikes with my 2 labs to get them some exercise, I can’t say enough good things about the boot camps and training that Hustle-n-Heel is providing. It really is a great workout, very entertaining, and quite motivating. …

Yes! Please feel free to contact your coach between classes if you would like further support or have any questions. The best way of getting in touch is via email so that your coach has the time to give your response their full attention. Your coach will advise you on the best course of action. They should be able to provide you with some basic advice that you can put in place straight away and may recommend a 1-1 session if you require more in depth behavioural or training support.

Happy Tails Dog School uses only positive reinforcement methods for some simple reasons:  they are kind and gentle, they produce quick and reliable results that last, and you won’t jeopardize your bond with your dog or risk bringing out aggressive behaviors.  I will never ask you to choke, shock, jerk, hit, punish or yell at your dog in any way.  (Click here to read Lucy’s shock collar story).  You will always feel good about the methods we use, I promise.

Jen and the staff at PRO K-9 have had such a positive impact on my family and my dog. Homer was a high strung, anxiety filled basket case, highly protective of us and our home. Homer and I now love going for walks and to socialization class to be around other dogs and strangers—something that would have NEVER happened without PRO K-9!

Someone, please help me. My beautiful, golden, 1 year old lab girl eats rocks. WHAT?? you say ? Really?? Not possible – well, true….she eats rocks. I am terrified that she will die. We live in rural PA on acres of land and she has always had free run. All of a sudden , this is a new thing. Now, I’ve put a soft muzzle on her when she goes out. This is killing me. Can someone give me ANY advice or give me a better idea or tell me how to train her not to do this????

Our program is best described as intimate. Our student to instructor ratio is literally no more than 3 to 1. Everyone gets to work dogs, and nobody just watches. Training with the instructors is informal and interactive. Questions about method and alternatives are encouraged. Many other schools are large and impersonal, and the bulk of your time is spent only training your own dogs. In this business you will be training the dogs of strangers or dogs for police work that have no handler to bond to. You have to have the skills to extract behaviors from all different temperaments and breeds to be successful. Our students are successful in the Pet Training Industry as well as in the Police K9, working dog and sport worlds.

Finding a reputable Labrador Retriever breeder is an important step towards finding a dog which is both physically and mentally sound. Labrador breeders play a crucial role in shaping the health of the breed going forward.

Use real rewards Be sure to reward your dog with things she truly finds rewarding. Some dogs will happily work for dry kibble when training in your living room but ignore it if you’re training in the park. Because the park’s a more distracting environment, paying attention there is a harder job for your dog. Pay her accordingly by using a reward worth working for, like small pieces of chicken or cheese, or a chance to run off-leash at the dog park with her buddies. Also keep in mind that what your dog considers rewarding at any given time may change. If she’s just eaten a big meal, a scratch behind the ears or a game of tug might be most rewarding. If she hasn’t eaten in a while, she’ll probably work enthusiastically for tasty treats.

The four basic commands you can teach your Lab http://rentabilisermapassion.org/french/commencer-une-affaire-rentable-aujourdhui-_boite-de-reception-blueprint-2-0-telecharger/ ‘come-sit-stay-heel’. Remember to always give commands in a gentle and friendly voice and never to hit your Lab. Put the intelligence and eager-to-learn attitude of your Labrador Retriever to good use, by making him understand what behavior is acceptable and what is not.

RD does a wonderful job of addressing specific problematic behaviors your dog may be exhibiting. Our rescue dog, Oly, was highly reactive to small dogs in our home. During our first training session… with RD she brought a small dog to our home and gave my partner and I the necessary tips to manage Oly’s behavior and keep the small dog safe and happy. We are relieved to get some support with Oly and look forward to working more with her in the future! See More

We immediately have noticed a difference in our dog after one session. She was so responsive during the session it was like night and day. I am actually disappointed we didn’t find this service sooner…. RD genuinely takes time to work with you and your dog and gives you tools to set you up for long term success. The sessions aren’t based on a specific time limit, which is amazing because our little dog needs some specialized attention. We are so thankful for our new trainer and how our pup’s behavior is changing! See More

It’s that extra-credit project that finally allows Matt to show the type of things he’s good at, such as dog sledding. Moreover, it’s that extra-credit project that shows Matt there are friends out in the world to be made outside of school, and successfully doing what one loves is what creates confidence and happiness. This children’s book is a wonderful read that quietly teaches life lessons, as well as educates young readers about the many fascinating facets of dog sledding.

In order to be certified as a therapy dog or emotional support dog, animals need to receive an evaluation/written designation from a licensed health professional: social worker, physician, psychiatrist typically. As for service dogs, which are allowed to accompany their owners into most businesses and pet-restricted areas, they can receive training, certifications, and registrations from several organizations such as TDI and United States Service Dog Registry. These certifications are not required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, but may streamline the process of getting a dog access to typically off-limits areas. Service dogs and therapy dogs are not the same thing. The same dog might fall into both categories, but therapy and emotional support animals are not recognized under the ADA.

Owners who take the time to understand the huge quality differences will put forth a more dedicated effort as students during their education at the Ohio State K-9 College. It’s a shame that more dog owners aren’t as dedicated to their dogs as Ohio State K-9 College students are.

The most effective way to ‘proof’  your dog’s training is to introduce each distraction in stages beginning with the least powerful level of any given distraction,  and culminating in the most powerful level of that same distractions.

The most effective way to train your dog is to use modern, science based positive reinforcement.  If you reward your dog for the behavior you want, your dog comes to understand what  is expected.  Reward based training is effective, humane , fast and fun!  Another result of this type of training is that your  dog  trusts you  and becomes a thinking, self-confident dog who learns to make good choices.  The way you train your dog determines the relationship you have with your dog.  By using the Home Dog Training Positively method, you will acquire both the knowledge and the skill to help your dog become a well behaved member of the family.

The show involved six celebrities and their dogs given an obedience task, an agility task, and they must train them throughout the week. At the end of the week, they would perform these tasks in front of the other celebrities and the expert judges.

i have a black lab who is 1 in november & is eating my walls she is only left for 3 hours a day then someone lets her out she is also not toilet training very well at night some times she is dry and we make a huge fuss of her but sometimes she just poos in the middle of the floor when there is puppy mats im thinking this is never going to end HELP

This means you should introduce him to as many new people and places as possible during his early months of life. Keep each new meeting and experience positive and upbeat. Doing this will reinforce your Lab’s natural tendency to be friendly and accepting of everyone.

The founding teachers of Dog School Los Angeles are a team of educated, dog loving professionals who respect each other just as much as the dogs we work with.  Working together over the years had proven to be highly valuable whenever we had the chance.  So naturally, we decided optimize our value in dog care abilities and work together all the time.  Trust and respect are in balance within our faculty.  And while there are many different career paths out there, this one in particular fulfills us most.

Socializing your dog is a very important part of any training. This helps to increase your dog’s confidence and desensitize them to everyday distractions, teaching them how to behave in public. Once you’ve mastered obedience commands at home, the next step is to apply your training in a social setting, teaching your dog how to behave around many “real life” distractions. A Behavior Consultant is present to help you every step of the way at our ongoing Socializing Groups. Group obedience is an integral part of the training process—we strongly urge our clients to participate in as many sessions as possible.
