When you and your Labs undergo obedience training, certain points are needed to consider. First is consistence in training. Do not just train your Labrador in a varying manner depending on your mood. Be consistent always with what you teach your dog and how you approach them. This breed will actually comprehend what you say through memorization of the coordinated actions and words you formulate while you train them.

Some trainers require that you purchase large packages, which can range up to $2,000 or more. For this price, they may come to your house, you may have to go to their office or you may send your dog away for several weeks. These programs often guarantee results with a money-back guarantee, but not all of them do.

I used to work from home, so even though my wife was in office, I used to take my dog out for a walk once every 3 hrs and never tied it nor locked it in. Fortunately my puppy got very well potty trained, also is good with strangers and new family members, even kids.

If a dog doesn’t meet expectations at the end of a training course, it is as likely to be related to the training course or the pet owner as the dog. A recommended next step would be to carefully research more training methods and local trainers to find a program that is better suited to your dog. Another one is to consider whether lack of commitment, inconsistent at-home practice,  or an inconsistent discipline/reward system may have undermined the training program.
