PAWS Training Academy is the leading school using hands-on methods to train Assistance Dog and Service Dog trainers. We’ve been training Assistance and Service Dogs for more than 13 years. We draw on this depth of experience to prepare students to train dogs to work in educational, rehabilitation, and care facilities and to help individual clients cope with the everyday challenges of living with disabilities. Throughout the program our students work directly with dozens of dogs with varying skills and temperaments and trained to assist with a diverse set of needs. They’ll also have the opportunity to work with and talk with dozens of current Assistance Dog owners and clients with Service Dogs. We offer intensive, concentrated training that prepares our graduates to train dogs to the highest level of performance. Our graduates are certified to a standard that exceeds the requirements of Assistance Dogs International. If you want to use your skills as a dog trainer to make a real difference in your world PAWS Training Academy will show you how. www.PAWSTrainingAcademy.com
Our students have an opportunity to work with all types of dogs during their attendance in one of our programs. We have a variety of pet and working dogs available, including dogs from our Second Chance Program. Students are allowed to bring up to two (2) dogs with them during their stay and they can integrate their personal dogs into their training program. You are not required to bring a dog with you as we will have many dogs for you to train and work with while you are here. Students are also not required to clean kennels or participate in any type of “work detail program” or “leadership program” during their stay. We have a full kennel staff that maintains our kennel facilities, daily.
It seems the problems with the practice of conventional veterinary medicine are going from bad to worse, and now the profit potential has big corporations buying up individual vet practices at a rapid pace.
After ONE session with RD, we are seeing drastic improvement in our pup… ok, really it’s drastic improvement in ourselves. RD showed us how we have been giving the wrong signals to our dog, so while… trying to correct the behavior we were actually reinforcing the wrong behavior. We are filled with hope. For the first time in over a year, we went on a walk that was peaceful. I got home feeling calm rather than worked up, so did the pup– and because our dog is a 160 lb Mastiff, it’s the first walk that I didn’t have to immediately make an appointment with the chiropractor afterward!! Thank you, RD we are SOOOO incredibly grateful! See More
Moreover, training precision lining and long-distance handling require a great deal of repetition and some degree of punishment. The dog that excels at these skills tends to be hyperactive, with a high pain threshold, which is exactly the type of dog we are breeding today.
The remainder of the session is devoted to training. Our professionals http://rentabilisermapassion.org/french/grandir-les-affaires-de-la-chambre-_jennifer-easton-developper-des-classements-daffaires/ show you how the training is done—instead of just telling you—and provide tips for practicing what you and your dog have learned.
Our seminar has been designed with vets in mind, to help improve your knowledge of canine body language and low stress handling, and to help ensure the veterinary experience is as stress-free as possible for all dogs and puppies.
Puppy training mainly focuses on socialization and basic manners, and thus fits well into a small-group training model. Puppies will learn to be friendly around other puppies and humans, and they will learn familiarity with the leash. Beginner and intermediate obedience classes are usually taught in a group training setting, wherein 5-10 owners and dogs learn basic to medium commands (sit and stay/down/heel). The group setting is recommended because it teaches dogs to ignore other distractions–whether they be dogs, humans or peripheral noises.

Consequences must be consistent When training your dog, you-and everyone else who interacts with her-should respond the same way to things she does every time she does them. For example, if you sometimes pet your dog when she jumps up to greet you but sometimes yell at her instead, she’s bound to get confused. How can she know when it’s okay to jump up and when it’s not?
Snow day today! Due to impending inclement weather conditions, all classes and appointments are cancelled for Saturday, Dec. 11, 2017. We will resume regular schedule on Monday. Be safe and keep yourselves and those furry family members nice and warm!
