Some training methods use punishment, like leash corrections and scolding, to discourage dogs from doing everything except what you want them to do. Other methods cut right to the chase and focus on teaching dogs what you do want them to do. While both tactics can work, the latter is usually the more effective approach, and it’s also much more enjoyable for you and your dog. For example, you can easily use treats, games and praise to teach your dog to sit when people approach during walks in the neighborhood. If your dog is sitting, she won’t be dragging you toward the people, jumping up when they get close enough, mouthing on their arms and legs, and so on. That’s pretty efficient training-no pain or intimidation needed. Alternatively, you could grab your dog’s leash and jerk her to the ground every time she jumps up to greet people, and you’d most likely get the same effect in the end-no more jumping up. But consider the possible fallout:
At the end of class we will again ask that you keep your distance from other owners and dogs. We will guide you out of the class one at a time, please remember to keep your distance from the other students as you are leaving the building and returning to your cars.
My dog LOVES dog school! It is easy to get her there and pick her up at any time, the people are so friendly, they pay attention to her and have noticed things I missed, the price is great, my dog loves the socialization and she is happily exhausted when I pick her up. I think it has taken my sweet, happy dog and made her sweeter and happier!

There are several common methods of dog training, including classical conditioning, operant-conditioning training (encompassing positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement training), dominance-based training, clicker training, and electronic training. Classical conditioning dates back to Pavlov – it means learning through association. If one thing consistently leads to another, a dog will associate the first with the second. The long-term result is to create habitual behaviors. Operant conditioning can be split into two sub-categories: positive reinforcement, where a dog is rewarded for good behavior, and negative, where a dog experiences consequences for bad behavior. The long-term result creates a dynamic where a dog will try new environments or behaviors due to owner prompts. Clicker training is a very popular sub-category of operant conditioning, where a dog is first trained with treats and corresponding “click” noise, and then gradually weaned to do the same processes for fewer treats but the same amount of clicks. Dominance-based training is a controversial method that is modeled around the “Alpha dog” hierarchy model, where one creature leads a pack. je veux créer mon entreprise though dominance training has many naysayers, it is the precursor of the iconic “Dog Whisperer” method popularized by Cesar Millan.
The puppy has the bladder he has, and you cannot influence that. What you can do is make it easy for him to be clean, by taking him outside to his toilet area very early in the morning, and even in the middle of the night , if that is what he needs.

For successful training, practice the following basic training steps with your puppy every day. Keep training sessions short. Your puppy will see everything as a game, so keep him stimulated by changing what he’s learning. Do each command for about five minutes and come back to it whenever you can.
Giving in to your puppy’s every need is not a good thing. As your puppy grows, so will his need to assert himself. Puppies often choose mealtimes as a battleground. But giving in to him is a mistake. You need to make sure he knows that you won’t respond to his every demand.

I bought this book to share with the pre schoolers in my life after we got a golden retriever puppy. The kids really enjoyed Tinka’s story and the colorful pictures that accompany it. Reading the kindle version on my iPad worked out well and it was fantastic I could have a copy across platforms (cell phone, iPad, computer) without lugging a physical book around since “Tinka” has been so popular. We have even read it to the puppy!

Secondly, is the crate the right size? if too large a dog may use one end as a toilet and the other to sleep in. It needs to be just big enough to stand without hitting her head, turn around in easily and lay down paws stretched out…but no bigger.
Marsha was incredible. I didn’t think my bichon could be cured of his jumping and barking and toileting in the house. After explaining the methods to me we did an intervention and I could see the immediate change in his behavior. Now I can have people visit my home!
