Labradors were bred in a cool climate. They really do feel the heat, so if you live in a hot climate try to do everything you can to make your dog comfortable. Provide plenty of cold drinking water, shade and cool airflow.
Eleven-year-old Matt is struggling in school and he has to set up his own business to save his failing math grade. But what is he even good at? The only thing he truly loves is his team of dogs, and so Matt’s Sled Dog School is born. Teaching dogsledding should be easy, right?
Any retrieving dog is bred to put everything possible it can in their mouth. And they love picking up rocks. Each time you catch your dog with a rock in its mouth, you can teach it “Drop”, which will come in handy with a multitude of things later. Also, don’t worry to much about him getting sick. Unless it’s a giant rock, or something toxic, dogs bellys are really acidic and can break down pretty much anything. And if they don’t you’re more than likely to just see it in their poop.

RD really understands dogs and their humans’ behavior. She’s so possitive and relaxed, gives amazing feedback and really helped me personally learn how to better communicate with my very large pitbull we adopted from the pound. My main challenge was keeping my dog calm on the leash and focused on me. I’ve had two sessions so far, and after the first one we experienced amazing improvement. So exciting! So grateful!
Some people just have an innate ability to connect with dogs and truly understand their behavior–RD is certainly one of those people! We welcomed 2 year old Charlie into our home about a month ago. …A loving, wonderful, smart dog–he aimed to please except that as soon as we put on a leash, he would just lay down. In one session, RD was able to have him trotting happily by our side–training US as well as him to identify the problematic behavior and correct it. She read him like a book, explaining to us what she was seeing as she saw it while simultaneously helping him to work through it. Thank you, RD!! See More
Teach children not to shriek, run or flap their hands because this will engage the puppy’s natural prey instincts and add to the problem. Children should remain calm and keep their hands closed and close to their bodies.
I had a great time in your class and learned exactly what I needed. I love your style and the balance of your warmth, knowledge and individualized training. I am looking forward to the next class. – Nancy G., Santa Rosa, CA
It has been one week and I have seen such an improvement in both Max and Bella! They are listening better and Max seems more relaxed with Bella, knowing that both Chris and I will make sure she doesn’t get too puppy playful. We are looking forward to continued success with Dick’s direction.

The mission and origins of Bark Busters were developed to prevent the euthanasia and surrender of dogs to animal shelters because of behavior problems. As volunteers in a Greyhound adoption program we have seen many dogs returned because the owners did not understand the training needs of their pet. By joining the Bark Busters pack, we can provide proven pet training methods and restore happiness to their homes. And these results apply to mature dog training, puppy training, rescue dog training, greyhound training, or virtually any breed, any issue.
Clients who have trained previously with Pat can bring their small dog to Pat’s country home in Graton for overnight boarding. During your dog’s stay, Pat reinforces polite house manners, socialization and basic obedience. Your dog returns to you happy, relaxed and better behaved!
“Come!” This one is, by far, the most important. If you see your dog running into an unsafe area, you can get them to immediately come back. This is especially important if your dog escapes and is running down the street after something that he shouldn’t. This command should be fool proof. No matter how exciting the stimulation, your dog should always drop whatever they are doing and return to you when called. (Related: Train your lab to come on cue)
We brought a lab puppy ( As its our first pet) as it was 2 weeks old and currently its 3 months old.We basically are pure vegetarian peoples. Initially we had lot problems in understanding it and its nature. We are encountering few problems such as puppy bites. When it sees me or my wife it starts biting, but its very obedient to my parents ( Never bit a single time). Please help me how to over come puppy bites. The intensity of bite is getting worst day by day and we don’t wanna punish it as we understand its very young to know what he is doing. Please suggest
Methods of obedience training have changed dramatically in the past couple of decades. No longer is dominating the dog and punitive correction considered appropriate… indeed, we now know this is a bad way to teach a dog.
I am writing this letter to let you know what a great trainer you have in Tom Mancuso here in the Kansas City area. He has worked with our dog Trapper for 2 sessions now and has done wonders with him. We felt that our dog would never listen to us and be to excited to have company over. Never in my life would I have thought that my dog could do what he is doing now with such little time of training. Mr. Mancuso has been very professional and courteous on every appointment and seems to genuinely care about the progress of Trappers training. I have told everyone that I know who owns a dog about Sit Means Sit and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work.
The owners are rad. They are young Philly entrepreneurs who are sincere about providing a positive environment for dogs whose parent(s) works. They get our domesticated dogs too, i.e. that they are pack animals that nevertheless need their belly’s rubbed.

I have had Max since he was a puppy and he is now 6. He has snapped at my 1 year old son a couple times. I think I should get rid of him. The last thing I want is for my son to be scarred emotionally or physically..Max actually does not snap at him when he is eating or anything. It is when he is around his back side. Alex pulled out an entire hand full of Max’s hair. Max cried and ran off. Alex feeds Max from his hand and Max takes it nicely. I do not want to get rid of my dog and do not think he would bite him, I just think he is trying to scare him. But am I willing to risk it? Nope. Would love to find some dog whispering trainer to fix it but I dont think that exists. Is this trainable behavior?

“Jerry goes so much more in depth into principles and techniques than any training programs I have seen in my seven years of training and handling police canines. If you truly want to learn how to train and handle a police canine the right way I strongly recommend that you attend.”
End each training session by leaving the dog in a positive frame of mind. To do this, end with a task you know the dog has mastered, such as ‘sit’, so you can shower him with praise and leave him feeling monter une micro entreprise about himself.
