“In mid-Aug this year, I got a 44 days old male fawn lab pup, he was weighing 2.5 Kg at that time. From day one my pup is active and having his food 3 times a day. He is very active, bites, eats and licks everything which reaches his mouth. Probably because of this in 2nd week of bringing him home he had diarrhea and it was a nightmare for me for a week. We immediately took him to vet and he was completely fine in a week.
I have a 3 yr old choc lab who is very well behaved normally, however in the last 2 weeks or so he has started mounting other dogs when off lead. His recall is good but hardly ever stops humping the dogs when called off. He has never done this before, can it be a sudden new behaviour or maybe a medical condition causing this? ( ive heard it could sometimes be from urinary tract infection?) Some advice would be great as my vets aren’t brilliant.
Please note dogs must be dog and human friendly, so your place cannot be guaranteed until after a conversation with one of our coaches, please call or email using the details below before purchasing your ticket.
Although she’s not a puppy, if you follow the advice given above then you should see an improvement. You might also want to consider have a session with a professional behaviorist to see if they can suggest anything specific that might help. Best wishes, Lucy.
The cost of in-home training is going to vary based on where you live and what type of training you’re seeking. Some trainers who have recently started a new business will charge less than a trainer who has been training for years, but you would be getting less experience. You can also expect to pay more in larger cities than in smaller markets.
1. During initial meet and greet you drop off your dog and stay with them while they meet other dogs and check out the space. I was very nervous because all the dogs were much bigger than him but they were very friendly. Since there wasn’t any type of psychological test to prove my dog isn’t batshit crazy, I inquired how they know if other dogs aren’t batshit crazy. Safety first people! Basically, they can tell almost immediately if a dog isn’t going to work out by body language etc and they keep an eye on the dogs the entire time which put me at ease. It also makes sense that it would not be in their best interest to keep a dog that is unpredictable.
Greetings! We are on holiday break until Wednesday, January 3, when all classes, lessons and client correspondence will resume. Here’s wishing you and your four legged family members a safe, warm and happy holiday season! Enjoy!

She is up front with the information, answers any questions you have, and has patience. She is well deserving of 5 stars See More
I bought this book– the kindle edition– for my kindergarden aged grandson. He is learning to read and the short, rhyming sentences are fun for him. It kept his attention all the way to the end. He loved the story and the pictures. His two year old sister sat and listened as we read it. At the end, she said “do school dog again, please!” That’s very rare for her .I just wish I’d bought the paper edition rather than have it on my tablet–It looks as though it will be a favorite for a very long time!
This may be a little off-topic but I can’t find any information on this anywhere else. Can I train my lab to tolerate increasing noise levels in our home with this reinforcement method? Gradually increasing his exposure to the noise until he is able to tolerate it in a relaxed state?

Now that you have a plan for positive reinforcement it’s time for housebreaking or potty training. When it comes to potty training there are some specific Labrador training tips. Labradors are larger dogs and that means they’ll be able to begin holding their bladder earlier than many smaller dogs. This is good news because it means you can begin potty training almost from the day you bring your Labrador puppy home. When it comes to Labrador training tips, one of the fastest ways to potty train your Labrador puppy is to use a crate. Crate training not only makes house training easier, it provides your Labrador puppy with a structure and a safe place to go during the day. The size of the crate need only be large enough for him to turn around and lie down. Instead of having to make multiple crate purchases as your Lab grows, you could buy a large or extra large crate now, and simply block off the space he doesn’t need with the use of sturdy cardboard or a well-sanded piece of plywood. Dogs have a natural instinct not to mess where they sleep, therefore if you leave too much free space, he will be able to do his business in the cage but still sleep far enough away from it. As your Labrador grows, keep moving the barrier until it is no longer needed. Never use the crate as a means of punishment for your dog. Your goal is to provide a safe and secure area that your Lab can turn to for rest and reprieve when needed. Using it as a punishment will simply defeat its purpose. You need to introduce the crate from day one as being related to safety. Labrador training tips for the use of a crate in a positive nature are easy enough to follow. It is a gradual training that should only be used for short periods of time at first. However, once your pup becomes accustomed to this you will find him going to his crate on his own for a nap or a time-out during situations he finds uncomfortable. When you being to use the crate for longer periods of time such as while you are at work or out for any length of time, you need to teach him when you open the door to his crate it’s time to go outside. It’s best to already have leash in hand before you open the door because it won’t take your Lab long to find a different place for elimination. You are still trying to reinforce the good behavior of him doing his duties outside, so make sure you have your clicker and a treat on hand to praise him again for a job well done. Training Labrador Puppies begins with the right training method and a plan. Know the rules and what you expect from your puppy before you begin training so you can be consistent. Lab pups are intelligent and eager to please, a little love and patience, and a few Labrador training tips, will go a long way with this breed and he’ll grow into the wonderful dog you know he can be. Mike took the time with each member of our family to help us clearly understand. We all learned so much. Both puppies responded almost immediately, it makes so much sense to have us learn to communicate in a way that works for the puppies. A kind and gentle way of training, so its fun for the pups and us.

He becomes hyper active when he sees or meets children. I have to keep a close watch and a tight hold on his leash whenever he is around children.
