Regarding our general training approach, in the early stages of training we lay down a liberal foundation of positive reinforcement. Polite behaviors result in wonderful consequences! Once expectations are unambiguously clear, your dog learns that there are consequences for both polite behavior, and impolite behavior.
Method one is a great system for anyone that can take time to be with their new puppy for the first few weeks. The system is based on avoiding accidents from the start, as this makes the process faster and simpler. It is set out in three clear stages

It’s been about 10 weeks since RD came over and almost magically fixed our very naughty, anxious dog Indie. It was really amazing. Between explaining to us what was wrong, and explaining to Indie th…at he was safe and could calm down, she spent about 2 hours with us. The changes are shocking. All our lives are so much better. We could not be happier. She is so experienced and has such a way with understanding dogs, I could not recommend her more highly! See More
Electric shock collars are still #shockinglylegal in England. Only Westminster has the power to ban sales of shock collars – which can shock a dog for up to 11 seconds – so we’re asking for your support to ask your MP to #banshockcollars.
Just these five simple commands can help keep your dog safer and improve your communication with him. It’s well worth the investment of your time and effort. Remember, the process takes time, so only start a dog obedience training session if you’re in the right mindset to practice calm-assertive energy and patience.
You can help your puppy learn to stop whining by not g,oing to him when he whines. By ignoring your puppy, and only giving him attention and praise when he stops whining, he’ll learn that whining and whimperig is not the way to earn your approval.

I have raised a lab puppy named Luna who grew up to be the best dog at walks and walking right by my side and here’s why; I starting walking her around my neighborhood TWICE a day from the moment she came to my home, I made sure that the leash was kept as short as possible and lifted above her head so she won’t bite it (she couldn’t see it) and any time that she would stop, I’d say “Let’s go!” And run a little bit, and always made her walk right by my side. Within a week she didn’t even need to be on her leash without walking by my side.
At Tarheel Canine our goal is to help you express that passion with programs that teach you not only how to train dogs, but how to look at the entire relationship between dog and handler, understand it, mold it and improve it. We have been training Trainers in private practice, police K9, and the Military since 1996. In the end any trainer’s job is to provide the benefits of training and behavior modification to the client whether they are a pet owner or a K9 officer or Sport competitor. At Tarheel Canine’s School for Dog Trainers you get preparation you don’t get anywhere else. You will train dogs in our kennel that we provide for you to work with that belong to Tarheel Canine and are going to become real street police dogs, real personal protection dogs, or are pets belonging to our clients. You will work alongside canine handlers going through their handler courses, and world class dog trainers on our staff….http://www.tarheelcanine.com/dog-trainers-school/

Your puppy’s adult teeth will start to erupt around four months (16 weeks or so) of age. For this reason, you should manage puppy biting before this age since adult teeth will cause more harm to human skin.
I have had Max since he was a puppy and he is now 6. He has snapped at my 1 year old son a couple times. I think I should get rid of him. The last thing I want is for my son to be scarred emotionally or physically..Max actually does not snap at him when he is eating or anything. It is when he is around his back side. Alex pulled out an entire hand full of Max’s hair. Max cried and ran off. Alex feeds Max from his hand and Max takes it nicely. I do not want to get rid of my dog and do not think he would bite him, I just think he is trying to scare him. But am I willing to risk it? Nope. Would love to find some dog whispering trainer to fix it but I dont think that exists. Is this trainable behavior?
Pam is a great trainer. She is firm but not in a negative way. It is extremely hard work doing what she does and in addition to all the work she has nothing but love for animals. I board my dogs there as needed sometimes as long as a week or two and they always come back home happy and tired. E…

Is it good training, or is it just down to luck? Perhaps we first need to decide exactly what we mean when we talk about obedience or an obedient dog. Let’s start by defining what makes an obedient Labrador.
Although many adult dogs with poor obedience understand certain commands very well at home, sometimes it helps to retrain a command right from the beginning using a new ‘signal’ simply because the old one has come to mean nothing outdoors in the big wide world.
GROUPS: If you have a group, and would like to set up a group session, we require a minimum of 15 dogs. You must collect the fees, and pay one fee to us. Each client must still sign a release which can be done when they train. The group rate is $69 per dog, and applies to first time dogs as well as refresher dogs. We do not currently offer training off site.
Tickets are FREE and places can be reserved through Eventbrite, or by contacting Dog School using the details below. Please book a place for each person attending so we have know numbers and can arrange seating.
The Terrible Twosome Thank you Martin and Pat. They now are absolutely awesome dogs, and I am happy to report, we have not had any serious dog fights between them in over a year now! You really gave me the insight and tools I needed for us live more peaceful lives.
You can also do more research online and through your city’s dog training club. “Clubs are great because they have lots of instructors, making it a good way to identify the best one for your family,” Reid says.
When training is started at 7 to 8 weeks of age, use methods that rely on positive reinforcement and gentle teaching. Puppies have short attention spans, so training sessions should be brief, but should occur daily. Puppies can be taught to “sit,” “down,” and “stand” using a method called food-lure training. We use food treats to entice the dog to follow its nose into the proper positions for “sit,” “down,” “stand,” and “stay”.

It is best to start the basic obedience routine after you and your dog have had a chance to bond. Obedience alone doesn’t solve all behavior problems, but it is the foundation for solving just about any problem.
thanks for answering. i got him to the vet a yesterday , the vet told me he is fine and said i should break his meals to 4-5 times a day, and its totally fine if he skips a meal. i very strongly feel that he needs more nourishment apart from the kibbles (i give him pedigree mother and pup) he was very fat and heavy when i got him home and now he is quite thin. i am worried.
I give food twice- once in the morning and one at Lunch. Both time the Female very fast in eating and very eager and it is very excited when it see the food and try to grab from hand. Both understand the names.
