For nearly 20 years, we’ve been providing students a path toward a rewarding career with animals. We offer four animal career training programs in dog training, veterinary assisting, dog grooming and cat training—all of which can be done in the comfort of your own home. The flexibility, tuition and fun animal interactions are just a few reasons why our students choose us.
The program is open to dogs 5 months and older. All clients must attend a pre-admission Aggression Evaluation, during which an Instructor and Manager will discuss the issues and formulate a game plan. The cost of this is between $120 and $150, depending on what resources are involved. If you check your dog in at the same time, we will waive this charge.

This is really difficult, as labs love food, and puppies eat everything, so the combo is a guaranteed scavenger. In the most, you just have to puppyproof the house and yard, and be incredibly vigilant. Teach him “Leave” and “Give”, from an early age so you can get objects from his mouth without a fight. Keep treats in a pouch on your belt, and if he picks something up, have him sit, then reward the sit, which means he drops the object in order to take the treat.
If none of these options are affordable, consider visiting a group class. Many of those are available from $75 to $125, but this includes several classes and covers many skills. Though it may not cover the specific skills in which you are interested, many trainers will spend time before or after class answering questions.
After ONE session with RD, we are seeing drastic improvement in our pup… ok, really it’s drastic improvement in ourselves. RD showed us how we have been giving the wrong signals to our dog, so while… trying to correct the behavior we were actually reinforcing the wrong behavior. We are filled with hope. For the first time in over a year, we went on a walk that was peaceful. I got home feeling calm rather than worked up, so did the pup– and because our dog is a 160 lb Mastiff, it’s the first walk that I didn’t have to immediately make an appointment with the chiropractor afterward!! Thank you, RD we are SOOOO incredibly grateful! See More
He is crazy for food, and become restless at exact time of his food time. Now he is 4 months old and all his initial 3 vaccinations has been done. He weighs 20 Kgs now and is healthy. He becomes hyper active when he sees or meets children. I have to keep a close watch and a tight hold on his leash whenever he is around children.

We are some of the most successful dog trainers in the country! Our Dallas/Forth Worth dog training programs typically include what we call commitment-based training. We work together with you to set specific goals from the onset of training, and from there, we commit to working with you until these goals have been achieved. Our goal is to be the last dog trainer you ever hire!
But please, first make sure to use the search facility in the footer of this website and browse our other sections as the subject may have already been covered: Labrador health and care, Labrador behavior, Labrador puppies, infobites and Labrador breed information.
Most trainers also offer packages, where you get a small discount for committing to a package of four or 10 rather than just one lesson. This is a desirable option if you have several behavioral issues that need to be worked on.
I saw results the same day! Mike did a great job explaining & showing me how to train & re-direct Tucker. My husband who was convinced Tucker couldn’t be trained also saw an immediate improvement in Tucker.
1. During initial meet and greet you drop off your dog and stay with them while they meet other dogs and check out the space. I was very nervous because all the dogs were much bigger than him but they were very friendly. Since there wasn’t any type of psychological test to prove my dog isn’t batshit crazy, I inquired how they know if other dogs aren’t batshit crazy. Safety first people! Basically, they can tell almost immediately if a dog isn’t going to work out by body language etc and they keep an eye on the dogs the entire time which put me at ease. It also makes sense that it would not be in their best interest to keep a dog that is unpredictable.
1-13-15I first met Dr. Chase January 2009 and Ike was about 4 Mo. old. Dr. Chase started Ike (poodle) with all of his shots, etc. All of a sudden Ike developed a problem with one of his legs. Slipped out of place and Dr. Chas operated on his leg and the operation was a success and Ike was abl…
A dog is well trained in obedience when he is obedient in the face of any level of distraction. That means he will respond properly when the neighbor’s cat walks by, when another dog is playing next to him and even when shotguns are going off and ducks are falling.
We have used Dog School for the past 7 years – first in its original location on 11th Street, and now that we have moved, in its South Street location. When we moved last year, I was most upset that I couldn’t take my dogs to dog school anymore so I was absolutely thrilled when they opened the South Street outpost. I can’t say enough good things about this business. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Jamie, Dan, Ryan, and Gary and the rest of the crew. We take both of our pups, and they always come back exhausted and happy. They usually are tired out for 2 days after daycare which I am always thankful for. The convenient hours, location, and friendly staff make dog school what it is. I totally trust them with my dogs and I know that they are under close supervision all day so I don’t have to worry!

The responsibility to be a good canine citizen does not lie at the feet of the dog. It rests on the shoulders of their owners. Almost 100% of the time a dog creates havoc in someone’s life – unless that dog has some neurological impairment – the underlying cause of behavioral problems is their owner’s lack of participation in their training, socialization, and exercise requirements.
Well-enforced dog park etiquette is a rare thing, so what happens when badly behaved dogs at dog parks start influencing your dog? Taking your dog to the dog park for the first time should warrant caution; even securely fenced parks hold risks simply because they involve lots of strange, unleashed d…
RD really understands dogs and their humans’ behavior. She’s so possitive and relaxed, gives amazing feedback and really helped me personally learn how to better communicate with my very large pitbull we adopted from the pound. My main challenge was keeping my dog calm on the leash and focused on me. I’ve had two sessions so far, and after the first one we experienced amazing improvement. So exciting! So grateful!

First of all, thank you very much for creating this equally helpful and accommodating website. I’m planning to get a puppy (Golden retriever) on February the 10th (2 months would have elapsed since he was born) and I have a few questions. Can I get him to a vet for a quick checkup while bringing him home? (The ride isn’t that long; 15 minutes max.) And should I put him in crate from the very first night? And if I do, at what intervals should I get him out in the night to go potty? What if he did it inside the crate during the night? I understood that night crating is different from day crating. So should can I start crate training him during the very next day?
Thanks for the great site and tips. We are looking at rescuing a seven month old lab. She has been at a very great and friendly kennel since she was three months old and her owner abandoned her there. I know the kennel has been working with her on basic commands and some crate training. I was wondering what tips you might have for us and our situation.

Some people believe that the only way to transform a disobedient dog into a well-behaved one is to dominate her and show her who’s boss. However, the “alpha dog” concept in dog training is based more on myth than on animal science. More importantly, it leads misguided pet parents to use training techniques that aren’t safe, like the “alpha roll.” Dogs who are forcibly rolled onto their backs and held down can become frightened and confused, and they’re sometimes driven to bite in self defense.

Imagine your dog being calm, peaceful, happy, friendly and obedient – without treats or a prong collar or an e-collar. Imagine your dog walking peacefully next to or behind you as you walk down a crowded street with people, traffic, and even other dogs and animals passing by. No lunging, pulling or troublemaking. Imagine your dog lying peacefully by your side as you enjoy a meal at an outdoor cafe while strangers pass all around. Yes … your dog!
My husband and I highly recommend Training Tracks! We initially met Jeff through a local animal shelter and then started in-home training sessions with our first dog for some behavioral problems. Both…
